英语长难句分析技巧之悬挂结构

上文学习的左二右六原则,适合分析一句话,即使句子很长,句子的主干只有一个。还有一些长句是由很多短句组成,每个短句由逗号隔开,这种带逗号的长难句需要通过悬挂结构来分析。

悬挂结构的表现形式为X,SVO(主谓宾)或SVO,X

其中X即为悬挂的成分,也是分为六种:

1、名词n.+svo

l like the Great Wall,one of the eight wonders in the world.

很明显one of the eight wonders in the world是the Great Wall 的解释说明,名词性短语悬挂就是做解释说明的,而且有个原则:就近原则,就是说这个悬挂的名词短语离得谁近就是解释谁的。

2、形容词adj+svo

Beautiful as Anne Hathaway, the girlis the most welcomed one in her school.

这个句子的主语是这个女孩,和安妮海瑟薇一样漂亮的Beautiful as Anne Hathaway修饰主语the girl,形容词短语的悬挂是和主语关联的。

3、动词:to do +SVO

To prove English,lchoose to learn from Allen.

主语我I 为了提高英语to prove English,to do结构的悬挂成分也是和主语关联。

4、动词:doing,衍生:when doing/by doing/after doing/before doing

doing + svo

Standing on the top of the mountain, l saw the whole Beijing.

我站在山顶上,我看到整个北京城,doing悬挂成分Standing on the top of the mountain和主语I 相关联

He sat under the tree, reading a book.关联主语

The song is sung all over the country,making it the most popular song.这是一种比较特殊的情况,doing悬挂成分making it the most popular song说的不是主语the song 而是,前面The song is sung all over the country这一整句话。

when doing+svo:

When doing homework, I felt sleepy.

by doing+svo:

By learning the cooking skill, she can cook now.

5、动词:done+svo

Buil in 1979, our school is an old school

He entered the room, followed by his dog.

6、动词:having done+svo

Having been given a map, wefound our way easily。

综上可以得出,除了名词性悬挂成分是就近原则,其余的都是和主语关联,分析带有逗号的长句时运用本文悬挂结构的内容可以快速找到短句之间的逻辑关系。
