A：早上好啊，约翰，你知道今天下午有龙舟比赛吗？
B：Yes, it is part of a holiday, right?
A：是的，是端午节。是在农历五月五日，不过通常也叫做龙舟节，它是中国三大传统节日之一。另外两个分别是中秋节和农历新年，这你已经知道了。
B：I seem to recall that our Chinese teacher said that this festival is related to an ancient poet, Is that right?
A: 有关这个节日的起源有很所传说，但是最广为流传，最被大家接受的版本是跟战国时期的著名诗人屈原有关。
B：Qu Yuan, right! Now the name seems to be back to my memory.
A: 屈原是楚国的官员，楚国当时已经陷入分崩离析的冲突状态。屈原博学多闻，深受民众爱戴与尊崇。他与宫廷猖獗的腐败作斗争，遭到其他官员的嫉恨，加上他主张抗击秦国，楚王罢黜他的官位。在几年的流放生涯中，他一边旅行一边教书一边写诗。当他听到楚国被秦国所败，悲愤绝望，在农历五月五日投汨罗江。
B：But how does the poet’s suicide have a thing to do with the Dragon Boat Races?
A: 你知道，屈原深受人民爱戴，所以当地的渔民匆忙计划着掌船在江内寻找屈原。他们一边击鼓把鱼吓走，一边把粽子扔到江里喂鱼，好让这些鱼不要啃食屈原的尸体。
B：What is zongzi?
A：粽子是端午节的传统食物，是一种包在芦苇叶或竹叶的糯米团。
B：Eating is really important part of Chinese culture, huh?
A:没错，或许是最重要的部分之一。
B: Other than the Dragon Boat Races and eating songs I, what else do you usually do on this day?
A: 端午节的时间也是很重要的一方面，这个时候是初夏，是疾病可能流行的季节，人们通常也会戴上护身符来辟邪。
B: What an interesting festival! I think I will join on the boat competitions.
A：等你划船累到肚子饿，胃口大增的时候，就可以吃粽子了。味道很不错哦！
口译重难点分析：
1. 中译英过程中发现中文修饰词较为繁多，很容易错过重要部分，比如主语，宾语等。
E.g. 最广为流传，最被大家接受的......
战国时期的著名诗人屈原有关....
2. Proper nouns多且不好翻
E.g. 战国时期, 芦苇叶或竹叶的糯米团, 护身符......
3. 中英文逻辑关系转换不是很敏感
E.g. 他们一边击鼓把鱼吓走，一边把粽子扔到江里喂鱼 (C:表时间 E：表并列）
4. 提及历史传说时，出现了知识盲区。在中文理解方面就有了问题，句子逻辑没搞顺以致错失部分信息
5. 重心没有放在理解，而是放在了记忆重复
口译质量评估：
亮点：套用复杂句，简单句结合转换，实现了部分deverbalization；意思表达基本准确；口译笔记较为简洁，明了。
不足：历史知识储备不足，许多专有名字不熟悉需要将重心转移到听及理解部分；语调升降不明显；笔记速度有待提升。

S: 你好，我是来自中央电视台的记者--Sophia。世界上有各种各样的工作，比如写作、护理、教学和工程师等。但不同的人选择不同的工作作为他们的理想的职业，因为每个人都有自己的兴趣。今天，我很高兴就理想职业采访了两名大学生。你好，Vicky。如果你能够拥有世界上任何一份工作，你最梦寐以求的是？
V：My ideal is to be an English teacher in a primary School.
S：你为什么选择当老师？
V: I choose to do so mainly for three reasons. First, I want to teach because I like the pace of academic calendar. Two long vacations offer me an opportunity for reflection, research and writing. Secondly, I want to teach because I like the freedom to make my own mistakes, to learn my own lesson, to stimulate myself and my students. And I can have the opportunity to keep on learning. Finally, I want to teach because, being around the students who are beginning to grow and change in front of me, I will grow and change with them too. But teaching is no easy job at all. I must study cleverly to obtain more knowledge. And, at the same time, I will make every effort to purify my soul so that I can become an architect of man＇s soul.
S：那你为了成为一名优秀的老师都做了什么？
V: During my college years, I have worked very hard at my major courses, so as to lay a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge. Of cause, I passed the teacher qualification examination and obtained the teacher qualification certificate.
S：你有教小学的经验吗?
V: Yes, I did. I have practiced for a month in a primary school. During the time, I tried my best to use all the teaching methodologies I learned at school to reach each child. Stories, poems, riddles, jokes songs are all good for little kids. I will have them practice English as a whole, so that my students like me very much.
S: 非常感谢你能接受采访。
S: Catharine, 那你的理想职业是什么？
C: Well, um, I wanna be an interpreter, preferably simultaneous interpretation.
S：好的。那能跟我们介绍一下什么是同声传译吗？
C: Simultaneous interpretation is oral translation of spoken language into another language at the same time and same rate of speech as the speaker. As a rule, an interpreter is located in a separate booth and the translation is transmitted to earphones provided to each participant.
S: 你如何能成为同传？我甚至不知道要如何做。
C: It"s a lot of schooling. I work hard in University and I practice my English listening and speaking ability consciously. And then, I invent a set of unique method to take notes. And what’s more, I also improve my memory by several ways. Last year, I got the qualification certificate for simultaneous interpretation.
S：祝你将来能成为一名同传译员，一名成功的同传译员。
C：Thank you.

同传指同声传译员以相同的速率和时间将演讲者的语言以口头翻译的形式翻译成另一种语言。
口译质量评价：
这次口译作业，有几点优点，可以提及：
1.小组成员衣着干净整洁、谈吐得体、举止大方。
2.采访者（刘甜)与被采访者(王珊）对与自己讲话内容熟悉度较高，无不熟悉或表达不出的地方。
3.两位译员准备充分，且在翻译时都遵循原本谈话人的讲话意图，做出了较为恰当的目标语言翻译。
4.在面对自己不要熟悉的词语或句子，译员无崩溃怯场等行为。
有以下几点不足：
1.男性译者（胡成志）对于自己较为熟悉的内容翻译语速过快，而对于自己不熟悉的部分则速度过慢，望今后放慢自己的翻译语气，使得整体语速变的平缓。
2.为让听众听的更加清晰，采访者（刘甜）的普通话还有待加强。
3.被采访者（王珊）注意力全部集中在采访者身上，缺少与观众进行眼神交流。
第一次在无老师带领的情况下进行口译作业录制，缺点很多，还需继续努力，加以改善。
