As well as所起的作用与not only… but also相当，但As well as强调其前的部分，做主语时谓语动词要根据as well as前的部分而定，not only …but also的强调后面的部分，做主语时谓语动词要根据but also后面的部分而定。

=The teacher as well as the students is looking forward to the holiday.
