长难句阅读 radioactive不是活泼的收音机（plant也不是植物）

最近有这样一条新闻“Japan’s government has decided to start releasing radioactive water from the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea within two years after it’s treated.”

其中，radioactive water被翻译成“放射性污水”，为什么radioactive是“辐射”的意思呢？

radio这个单词咱们在小学就学过，是“收音机”的意思，其实它的本意应该是“无线电广播、无线电通信”，要知道录音机不就是接收无线电信号吗？所以radio也被翻译成了录音机。

而既然radio是“无线电”，无线电是和辐射都是电磁波，所以radio+active也就可以表示辐射了。

这里面，还需要学生们注意一点，就是nuclear plant的意思是“核电站”，千万别翻译成“核植物”，plant虽然有“植物”的意思，但是也有“发电厂、工厂”的意思，这一点学生们要牢记。

虽然很长，但是一点都不难理解。

Japan’s government是主语，has decided是谓语，to start releasing radioactivewater 是非谓语不定式，然后from....into...within......都是介词短语补充修饰整个句子。
