see that（sb do / did这个句型对不对 还是只能说see sb do / doing）

我们研究型中学英语教师群又有朋友问：

She saw the boys were playing happily on the farm.这样的句子看成从句可以吗？还是必须用宾语补足语，说成：She saw the boys playing happily on the farm.？

我回答说：

see后面跟宾语从句的时候，一般来说不表示“看见”，而表示“看明白”、“看出”、“理解”。《新牛津英汉双解大词典》对这个意思的解释是这样的：

[with clause]be or become aware of something from observation or from a written or other visual source

由上可知，应该是saw the boys playing，而不是saw the boys were playing。

之前，有朋友问过类似的问题：

You can see many trees around here. 这句话为什么不能加个are，说成You can see many trees are around here.？

我的回答，除了上文所查到的词典解释以外，就是：

第二个句子是不对的，它要用表示“看到”的see来接从句，这是接不住的。所以，不能这么改。

总的来说，我们要勤查词典，多利用工具书，不要凭感觉，那样是很危险的。
