Table Manners 餐桌礼仪

Mom: We"re going to eat at Aunt Sally"s houseon Saturday.

妈妈：咱们周六要去萨莉姑姑家吃饭。

Child: I"m excited!

宝宝：我好激动啊！

She makes the best food.

她做饭最好吃了。

Mom: Good.

妈妈：好的。

Let"s reviewour table manners tonight.

咱们今晚复习一下餐桌礼仪。

Manner作礼貌、礼仪时，一定要用复数形式。

She hasn"t seenyou in a while,

她好久没见你了，

and we want to make a good impression, right?

咱们给她留个好印象，好吗？

Child: I guess.

宝宝：好吧。

I already know some manners.

我已经知道一些礼仪了。

Mom: Like what?

妈妈：比如呢？

▎礼仪一Child: I know I have to chew withmy mouth closed

宝宝：我知道嚼东西的时候要闭着嘴，

▎礼仪二and not talk withmy mouth full.

嘴里有东西的时候不能说话。

Mom: Very good.

妈妈：非常好。

Anything else?

还有呢？

▎礼仪三Child: I shouldn"t burp,

宝宝：我不能打饱嗝，

▎礼仪四and I need to ask before I leave the table.

还有离席的时候要请示一下。

Mom: Good.

妈妈：很好。

There are a few more rulesI want to teach you.

我还想再教给你一些规则。

▎礼仪五The first one is you should come to the tablewith a clean face and hands.

首先，你要把脸和手洗干净再上桌。

▎礼仪六You don"t start eatinguntil someone tells you or everyone else does.

有人说可以吃了，或者大家都这么做了，你再开始吃。

Child: OK, you"ve toldme all these before.

宝宝：好的，这些你以前都跟我说过。

I just forgot.

我只是忘了。

Mom: It"s not a problem.

妈妈：没关系。

Do you want to hearthe rest?

你还想听其他的吗？

Child: Yeah.

宝宝：嗯。

Mom: OK.

妈妈：好的。

▎礼仪七You need to stay seated

你要一直坐在座位上，

▎礼仪八and sit up straight.

坐直。

▎礼仪九You don"t want to make bad comments aboutthe food.

你不要挑饭菜的毛病。

▎礼仪十You need to ask people to passyou dishes that are far away.

如果菜离得比较远，要请别人传给你。

Child: OK.

宝宝：好的。

▎礼仪十一Mom: At the end of the meal,

妈妈：吃饭结束的时候，

thankthe people who cooked

要感谢一下做饭的人，

▎礼仪十二and offer to clean up.

主动提出帮忙收拾。

Child: Do I have to?

宝宝：我需要主动提的？

I want to play withmy cousins.

我想和弟弟妹妹玩。

英文中不管堂、表兄弟姐妹叫brother、sister，而统一称为cousin。

Mom: Yes, you have to offer.

妈妈：嗯，你需要的。

It"s polite.

这样才有礼貌。

Child: Well, that"s OK.

宝宝：嗯，好吧。

Are these all the manners?

这些是所有的礼仪吗？

Mom: Yep.

妈妈：是的。

Can you bring me your Play-Doh?

你能把你的橡皮泥拿过来吗？

Play-Doh虽然是培乐多这个品牌名，但人们拿它来泛指橡皮泥，也可以写作play dough以淡化品牌。

Child: Are we going to eat Play-Doh?

宝宝：我们要吃橡皮泥？

Mom: No, it"s just for practice, silly.

妈妈：不是，就用来练习一下，傻孩子。

Let"s makethe Play-Doh into food and dishes.

咱们用橡皮泥做食物和餐具。

Child: Yay!

宝宝：耶！

I like playing withmy Play-Doh!

我喜欢玩橡皮泥！
