介词短语结构为“介词+名词”，介词短语的作用相当于形容词或副词，它可以用作所有不同含义的状语，包含时间状语，地点状语，原因状语，方式状语，程度状语，条件状语，目的状语，伴随状语，范围状语，让步状语等等，功能强大！
第一， 作时间状语，常用的介词有during, for，about, at, before, by, on, over, from ,since, within, from等
【例】During the summer holidays I stayed in America for 1 month. 其中during the summer holidays及for 1 month都是时间状语
第二， 作地点状语，常用的介词有on, in, at, over, by, on, about, before, after等
【例】Do not leave the notebook on the bed. 其中on the bed就是地点状语
第三， 作原因状语，常用的介词有for, with等
【例】For this reason, Tom is not the best candidate for this position.其中for this reason为地点状语
第四， 作方式状语，常用的介词有by, in, with等
【例】you had better to go there by bus.其中by bus是方式状语
第五， 作程度状语，
