为了使文章更有效力，就要避免这些词的使用，以下是5类要避免的弱势表达：

Reason: Vague

原因：含混不清

Although people have been led to believe this word is used to convey emphasis on a subject, it really doesn"t do any word justice.

尽管人们总觉得really这个词能起到强调的作用，然而实际上它并不能准确地表达强调的意思。

Option: Delete/ Remove

替换方式：删去 / 去除

If you are going to use this word, make sure to do so sparingly as to not lessen its impact.

如果你要使用这个词，确保能达到效果才使用。

例句：

× The swimmer really performed admirably

√ The swimmer performed admirably

Reason: Not specific

原因：不够具体

Too unspecific which leaves room for a lot of questioning on the readers side. The writer may know what these ‘things’ are, but the readers don"t.

这类词不够具体，所以很容易让读者感到困惑，作者可能知道“things”在文章中具体指代什么内容，但是读者并不一定知道。

Option: Define/ spell out what the article says.

替换方式：解释 / 写出文章中具体阐释的内容

× The article said a lot of things and stuff

√The article discussed the principles of interactive design

Reason: Not confident

原因：不够自信

These phrases change the focus of the sentence from the subject to the writer. They make the writer look unsure of what he is writing and do nothing to inspire confidence or persuade the readers.

这类词的使用容易让读者将句子的焦点由句子的主语转移到作者身上，显得作者不确定他在写什么，所以对于激发读者信心和说服读者等方面没有起到任何作用。

Option: Remove in order to sound confident

替换方式：为了听起来更自信，最好去掉这些词
