首先我们要清楚，清明节作为节日和作为节气时的英文表达方式时不同的。
作为节日时，清明节一般翻译为"Tomb Sweeping festival"
或者"Tomb-sweeping Day"，直译过来就是扫墓节或扫墓日。
着重强调了清明节的重要习俗：“扫墓”。
这个表达非常直观，即使是外国人也能一下子明白过来清明节的含义。
当清明作为节气来表达时，则被译为"Clear and Bright"，也就是清洁和明亮。
和其他节气的翻译一样，强调了清明时节的气候状况。

2）In memory/remembrance of 以纪念，以缅怀

英语单词“memory”指“记忆”，而“remembrance”指的是 “回忆、怀念” 。
例：You can purchase a park bench with a personalised plaque in memory of a loved one.

3）Pay homage/tribute to 向…致敬、祭奠
表达“pay homage to、pay tribute to”的字面意思是"向某人致敬，
对某人表示尊敬”。这两个英语说法也有"对故人、祖先等表示尊敬"的意思。
例：They have included a special scene in this short film to pay homage to the famous director.
他们在这部短片中加入了一段特别的场景，并以此向那位知名导演致敬。
4）Mourn for 悼念、哀悼
动词“mourn”的意思是“悼念、追悼”，它和介词“for”搭配使用，后接人或物。
例：The widower mourns for his deceased wife.
鳏夫悼念他已逝的妻子。
5）Honour the memory of 緬怀
在这个英语说法中，单词“honour”做动词，意思是“对…表示尊敬”。
所表达“honour the memory of someone”的含义就是“纪念、緬怀”。
例：We are gathered here to honour the memory of the heroes whose lives were lost in the great fire.
