在英语中表示并列关系的连词你知道有哪些吗

英语中连词虽然是个虚词，但是其作用非常大，连词一般分为并列连词和从属连词。我们今天来复习并列连词的用法。

（一）表示并列关系的并列连词有：

①and 表示“和，与，而且，然后”等意思。

【例如】

My father and my mother were teachers then .

___ Work hard, and you "ll pass the exam.

___ OK.I"ll try my best.

② both…and…“两者都……”

【例如】

由both…and…构成的词组作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。

【例如】

Both she and I are very short.

I can both speak English and Chinese.

③neither…nor… 表示“既不…也不…”, 由neither…nor… 构成的词组作主语时，谓语动词采用就近原则，与nor后面的词保持一致。

【例如】

Neither he nor I speak English.

他和我都不会说英语。

④ not only…but also …“ 不但…而且…”由 not only…but also …构成的词组作主语时，谓语动词采用“就近原则”。

【例如】

Not only you but also your friends are very happy.

不但你高兴，而且你的朋友们也非常高兴。

She can play not only the drums ，but also the piano .

⑤as well as 表示“而且，还，又”，它连接并列主语时，谓语动词应该与前面的主语在人称和数上保持一致的关系。

【例如】

The mother as well as her three children is playing in the park.

那个母亲和她的三个孩子正在公园里玩。

（二）表示转折关系的并列连词有

①but “然而，但是”

【例如】

I like milk,but my mother doesn"t like it.

② while 表示一种对比，意思是“然而，而 ”

【例如】

I was born in Shanghai while I grew up in Shenyang.

我出生在上海，然而我在沈阳长大。

③yet 表示“然而，但是”

【例如】

Tom worked hard,yet he didn"t pass the exam.

汤姆努力学习，但是他没有通过考试。

（三）表示选择关系的并列连词有

① or 表示“或者，还是”

【例如】

Do you want the red bag or that white one?

你想要这个红色的包还是那个白色的包？

② either…or… 意思是“不是…就是…”

由 either…or… 构成的词组作主语时，谓语动词采用“就近原则”。

【例如】

Either you or he is right.

不是你对就是他对。

（四）表示因果关系的并列连词有

① so "因此，所以”

【例如】

I got up late ,so I was late yesterday.

我起床晚了，因此昨天我迟到了。

② for 表示“因为”

【例如】

I soon went to sleep,for I was tired.

我很快就入睡了，因为我太累了。
