大学英语四级之翻译的常见的三个易错小词

很多人在做英语翻译的时候，感觉这个句子看起来很简单，而且也没有生词，很多短语都是自己背诵过的。

但翻译题做完，结果就是非常不好。主要原因就是背诵短语的确没错，但是会背诵不代表会运用，会运用不代表运用得到。

所以，在这里我总结了一些比较常见而且易错的英语知识点，搭配知识点的句子都是我从词典或四级练习题真题当中进行摘录的。

far的常见表达

很多人觉得far是副词。但其实也可以作形容词表示遥远的：a far country：一个遥远的国家。

一个短语：far away from:距……远：

学校离我家很远：The school is far away from my house.(表示距离远的话，away可以省略：the school is far from my house.)

距……x 远，far通常不与具体的数字连用，那么用数字+away from即可：

A is 2 kilometers away from B:AB两地相距两千米。

真题练习：华山位于华阴市，距西安120公里。

Mount Hua is located in Huayin City,120 kilometers away from Xi"an.

(A位于B,距C xx公里远：A is located in B,xx kilometers away from C)

拓展小知识：陕西：shaanxi;山西：shanxi.

from和since：

这两个的区别就是时态问题了：from可以和过去现在将来连用，而since只能用完成时（have done）。

从唐代起，中国戏曲的表演者被称为‘梨园弟子’：From Tang Dynasty on,performers of Chinese opera werereferred to as"disciples of the pear garden".(从X 代起：from X dynasty on;被称为：be referred to as)

真题练习：自上世纪90年代泰山安装缆车以来，参观人数大大增加。

Since cable cars were installed in Mount Tai in the 1990s,the number of visitors has increaseddramatically.

（电缆车：cable car;……的数量：the number of）

拓展小知识：公元前：B.C.；公元后：A.D.；

如果公元前123年：123 B.C.;

公园123年：A.D. 123;

x世纪y年代：(x-1)+y+s:如19世纪60年代：1860s；20世纪30年代：1930s；

not only……but also应该怎么用

not only……but also表示不但而且，同时在翻译题中也很常见这个结构，但很多人却会用错。

连接主语时，谓语动词和相近的主语保持一致。

Not only she but alsoi am familiar with Chinese opera.

(熟悉：be familiar with;中国戏曲：Chinese opera)

谓语句首时，not only后面主谓倒装（主谓倒装就是把谓语放在主语前），但but also 不倒装。

他不仅去过加拿大，还认识加拿大的人：

Not only has hebeen to Canada,but also he knows some Canadians.

(x去过y 地：x has been to y)

真题练习:华山是秦岭的一部分，秦岭不仅分隔陕北与陕南，也分隔华南与华北。

Mount Hua is part of the Qin Mountains,which divide not only northern and southern Shaanxi,but also south and north China.
