1.colour=color,英美不同拼法。

2.truth[tru:θ]真理，真相。是形容词true的名词形式。

3.beauty[bju:ti]美好，美人。是形容词beautiful的名词形式。

4.need,有两种词性，一种情态动词，另一种是实意动词。

(1)做情态动词时，没有人称、数量和时态的变化，否定用needn"t，疑问句用need本身，need后面直接跟动词原形。一般只用于否定句和疑问句中。

(2)做实意动词时，有人称、数量和时态变化，否定借助于don"t/doesn"t/didn"t，疑问句借助于do/does/did。

此句中的need就是实意动词。再如：

I need your help.我需要你的帮助。

I need to go.我得走了。

★特别注意，need doing sth,表达被动含义。The flower needs watering once every week.这花需要每周浇一次水。

5.no=not any.

needs no color=doesn"t need any color.但这样说不地道。

6.beauty,no pencil=beauty needs no pencil.
