一、什么是英语连词
连词是一种虚词，在句中起连接作用。如：and, but, or, so, however, for, both…and, either…or, neither…nor, because,then等。
二、小学阶段英语连词的考点总结
1、and 与 or（常考必会）
（1）意义不同。and用于表达两者并列的关系，意为“和”，两者都要满足；而or表达两者之中的一个，意为“或者”，两者任取其一，不一定都满足。
举例说明：
I like eating apples and oranges.（我喜欢既喜欢吃苹果，又喜欢吃橘子）
Would you like some drinks or milks?（你想要一些饮料或者牛奶吗？）
（2）用法不同。and 一般用于肯定句，or 通常用于否定句和疑问句。
举例说明：
I love my father and mother.（肯定句中用and，表达并列关系）
She doesn"t like her little brother or sister.（她既不喜欢她的弟弟，也不喜欢她的姐姐。否定句中用or，表达并列关系）
Does she have any balloons or other balls?（她有一些气球或其他球吗？一般疑问句中用or，意为“或者”）
（3）or 还有“否则”的意思。
I must study hard, or I"ll fail in the exam.（我必须努力学习，否则我将会）
Don"t go to bed late at night, or you will be late for school next day.（晚上不要睡觉晚，否则你第二天会上学迟到）
2、both …… and...两者都（后面谓语动词用复数）（常考必会）
She can play both the piano and the guitar.（她既会弹钢琴，也会弹吉他）
Both Millie and Jack are in Class 3.（米莉和杰克都在三班）
3、neither…nor " 既不 …… 也不 ……"
谓语动词采用就近原则，与 nor 后的词保持一致。
Neither you nor he is wrong.（你和他都没错。）
4、either…… or…… 或者……或者 ……
注意谓语动词采用就近原则。
Either A or B is OK. （A或者B都可以。）
5、but，however表示转折，前后意思相反，常在阅读理解题型中考察。
（1）but用在句中。如：She loves cats, but I don"t.
（2）however单独用，如：She loves cats. However, I don"t.
6、because,so,for表因果关系
注：because和so不能连用，两者在一个句子中只能出现1个。
He was so tired because he slept too late last night.
He hurt his leg, so he couldn"t play in the game.
He is late for school today, for he is ill.
