（1）for的用法
介词for从大面上看，就是表示“为了……”，但在与不同动词连用时，表示着不同的意思。
①表目的
leave for … 动身去某地
start for … 启程去某地
strike out for … 使劲地向某地走去
②表示“要”的含义，并且带有“渴望”的含义
expect for a visit to China 期待或渴望访问中国
wish for … 渴望（和平等）
hope for … 渴望（成功等）
③表示原因或理由
be famous for 以……著称
be grateful for 感谢……
be sorry for 为……感到抱歉
④表示赞成
argue for sb. 为某人争辩（表示支持某人）
stand for … 提倡或主张某事
vote for … 投票赞成某事
（2）常见的表示地点或时间的副词用于修饰名词的用法
at another place twenty miles away 中，twenty miles away用来个性place做定语。两样的用法，比如：
表地点：
the way ahead 前面的路
the sentence below 下面的句子
表时间：
the meeting yesterday 昨天的会议
（3）被动语态的使用
the puma was often observed 这只美洲狮被观察到（一般不这么翻译，英语喜欢使用被动，中文喜欢主动。所以应该译为“看到这个美洲狮”）
过去时就是be done的用法，但有同学问，be是am is are，怎么这里用was。
被动语态也分现在时，过去时以及将来时。分别对应着
am/is/are done，was/were done，和shall/will be done
往复杂里讲，被用语态也要看用在什么场合，是一般式还是进行式，还是完成式，要对be动词也做出相应的调整。
①比如现在时的被动式
I am told …
在进行式中，就要变为：
I am being told …
在完成式中，要变为：
I have been told …
②过去时的被动式
I was told …
在进行式中，就要变为：
I was being told …
在完成式中，要变为：
I had been told …
③完成时的被动式
I have been told …
在进行式中，就要变为：
I had been told …
在完成式中，要变为：
I shall have been told …
