3 When you say He is as big as a bear,you"re discribing him,you"re telling us what he looks like.

能这么“用”英语的时候，“再说”中文显然就“多余”了。不是吗？

4.If something is extraordinarily similar,it is very very similar,meaning almost the same.

“英语阅读”要的就是这个能把学过的英语“用起来”的能力，当然不是英译汉能力。

2) The hunt for the puma began in a small village

1.When we hunt for something or someone,we look for them,we search for them.

英语已经“说”到这样的程度，离开中文“英语死不了”。

2.So,the hunt for the puma began means the search for the puma began.The looking-for the puma began.

3) where a woman picking blackberries saw "a large cat" only five yards away from her.

1.A woman picks blackerries,she can also pick apples in the garden,pick vegetables on the farm,pick rice in thevfield(你继续接龙).

2.only five yards away from her

If someone or something is only five yards away from you,the distance between you and them is only five yards.

“用”中文翻译only five yards away from her就没有机会“一用”英语distance between等等了，英语就变得“只学不用”，“学而不用”，“学用脱节”。
