一般过去时就是指过去发生的事情，比如：I went to school at 7:00 yesterday.我昨天七点就去上学了。一般过去时会使用一些常见的“关键字”，如：yesterday、last year、ago等，若还不能理解这个时态，我们先来看一下官方定义：

We use the simple past (also: past simple, past tense) is used principally to describe events in the past, although it can be used to express also for past habitual action. Regular English verbs form the simple past using –ed, although there are several hundred irregular verbs.

我们用一般过去时描述过去发生的事，也可以描述过去习惯性的动作。一般的英语动词用-ed来构成一般过去时，还有上百的不规则动词。
