为什么常常找不到眼镜 钥匙和身份证（专家一句话：就是因为它）

今天，咱们聊一个日常生活中的现象：为什么我们总是找不到东西？

尤其是各种小东西：眼镜啊、钥匙啊、银行卡啊，身份证啊。

有人总是说：老了老了，脑子退化了，不好用了。

可是，明明很多年青人，也经常找不到东西啊！

这到底怎么回事呢？

在这次英语演讲中，专家一句话就解释清楚了：

There is a structure in the brain called the hippocampus.

在我们的大脑里，有一个叫海马体的结构。

It has evolved over tens of thousands of years。

它已经进化超过数万年了。

It can keep track of the locations of the important things.

海马体可以追踪重要东西的位置。

Where the well is，where the fish can be found.

例如水井的位置，捕鱼的位置。

But it is really good for things that don"t move much.

但是呢，海马体只是对找固定的东西比较有效。

not so good for things that move around.

对于找会移动的东西，海马体却不是很管用。

So this is why we lose car keys, the reading glasses and the passports.

这就是我们为什么会常常找不到车钥匙、老花镜还有护照的原因。
