My View on NEET

Now in China, the problem of NEET has been brought into public attention. NEET refers to the group people who are not currently engaged in education, employment or training, and just stay at home, relying on their parents.

现在在中国，“啃老”问题现在已经进入了大众的视野。 “啃老”指的是最近没有参与教育、工作或者培训等活动的一群人，而只是待在家里，依赖于他们的父母。

Opening Psychology Course in College

Nowadays many colleges put psychology on their curricula and some even make it a compulsory course. Besides, special centers have sprung up on campus to provide guidance and help for students puzzled by mental or emotional problems.

A wealth of reasons cast light on this phenomenon. In a broad sense, with the rapid growth of society, the pace of life becomes quicker and quicker, and the competition becomes much fiercer, which lead to increasing mental stress on people. Once accumulated for a certain length of time, stress may cause diseases, both physically and mentally. In particular, college students are more liked to be affected by psychological problems for lack of life experience. To put it another way, they are not mature enough to address setbacks calmly. So it is of utmost importance for colleges to open psychology course to give students proper guidance.

From where I stand, students are in urgent need of studying psychology on campus. It will not only allow students to have a general understanding of this social science, but also help them deal with mental or emotional problems in a better and more rational way.

有很多原因导致了这一现象。广义上，随着社会的快速发展，生活节奏变得越来越快，以及竞争变得更加激烈，从而导致了人们日益增加的心理压力。一旦承受的压力积攒到一定的时间就会导致身理和心理疾病。特别是大学生因为缺少生活经历而更容易被心理疾病所影响。换句话说，他们还不够成熟以冷静应对挫折。所以对于大学来说开设心理课给学生们合理正确的引导至关重要。

从我的立场来看，校园里的学生们迫切需要心理健康的学习。它不仅能让学生对这一社会科学有一个总体认识，也能帮助他们以一个更加合理的方式处理心理和情感问题。

“Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.” is a proverb showing the relationship between knowledge and practice vividly. Apparently, this saying aims to deliver the message that if we want to master the knowledge we have learned, we ought not to stop practicing it.

As for us college students, practice is of great importance. There are two reasons accountable for this statement. To begin with, we can apply the knowledge we have obtained from textbooks to the solutions for practical problems. By doing so, we can get more social experience. What’s more, the knowledge has become so growingly complicated that if we don’t practice it and ponder it over again and again, we cannot genuinely grasp the essence of it. Examples can be easily found to make this point clearer. Learning oral English is a good case. Even if one is extremely familiar with the grammar of the language, he will not be fluent speaker if he never opens his mouth and speaks.

To sum up, practice is of great importance for those who are determined to acquire knowledge well. It can assist us in getting more social experience. And it can help us absorb knowledge better.
