一、on earth

on earth主要是用在口语中，用来强调以下3种情况的说话语气。

1、和what/why/how/where/who等特殊疑问词连用，表示“究竟、到底”，用来询问令人惊讶或生气的事情。

例句1：How on earth did that happen?那到底是怎么发生的？

例句2：What on earth do you like about me? I swear I"m going to get rid of it.你究竟喜欢我哪一点？我改还不行吗！

2、和否定词连用，表示“一点也不、绝对没有”，相当于at all。
