英译英英语阅读：《新概念第三册》L2 That"s the trouble

一、把下面课文的“音形义”都读成英语的

"That"s the trouble, vicar," answered Bill. "It"s working all right, but I"m afraid that at one o"clock it will strike thirteen times and there"s nothing I can do about it."

"We"ll get used to that Bill," said the vicar. "Thirteen is not as good as one but it"s better than nothing. Now let"s go downstairs and have a cup of tea."

二、“音形义”都是英语的英语阅读

1) That"s the trouble, vicar," answered Bill.

1.If something or someone is a trouble,they are a problem,they"re a headache.

2.So,Tha"s the trouble,we can also say That"s the problem.

不需要中文也可以“读懂”英语的。

3.If we answer someone,we reply TO them,we respond TO them.

4.So,answered Bill means replied Bill(he replied (to Vicar)).

所谓的“英语阅读”，最怕的就是“读”是想不起这些英语：越用中文“想”，“想”英语能力越差。

2) "It"s working all right

If something works all right,it works,it is in service.

由英语work all right到英语be in service的“想”正是我们读再多英语也没有好好训练的能力。

3) but I"m afraid that at one o"clock it will strike thirteen times and there"s nothing I can do about it."

1. If you say I"m afraid,you can also say I think,or I"m sorry (about it)

2.If there"s nothing I can do about it,I can not do anything about it,I can do nothibg about it.

这些都是非常简易的英语，“弄成”中文一点不难，但是，要我们“说出”这些英语，就是我们的“短板”了。所以，必须加强用英语学英语能力，而不再是“”再简单的英语也要用中文说”。

4) "We"ll get used to that Bill," said the vicar.

我们“学”英语get used to，最难的不是“不懂”它的中文，也“说不出”它的中文。

最难的，是我们“说不出”下面的英语句型：

If you get used to someone or something,you get accustomed to them,you make them a habit,you feel comfortable with them.

如果你一辈子只用中文“理解”英语，可能你就一辈子不会这么“主动”使用英语。想想我们耗费辣么多时间本来就是要学并学好英语”，最终却达不到我们的目的。想想这真是很可怕的事情，

"Thirteen is not as good as one but it"s better than nothing. Now let"s go downstairs and have a cup of tea.
