1分钟英语挑战：more（of……than……）

more of……更(像)是……

注意：

1. 一定要用在上下文里，一般不能独立使用。

2. 根本句式是：be more of sth (than sth)。

3. 这个结构其实是在比较两个东西，所以不能在脱离语境的情况下独立使用 more of，一定要有所对比！除非你直接用 more of sth than sth。

A: Your dress is maroon.

你的裙子是褐红色的。

B: No, I wouldn"t call it maroon. I"d say it"s more of a burgundy.

不，我觉得不是褐红色。我觉得它更像是酒红色的。

根本的意思：

I"d say it"s more ofa burgundy than a maroon.

我觉得它更像是酒红色而不是褐红色的

A: I"m looking forward to travelling during the Spring Festival. It"s gonna be a great vacation.

我很期待着春节的旅行。肯定会是很棒的假期。

B: Really? I wouldn"t call it a vacation. I"d say it"s more ofa battle.

真的吗？我觉得不应该叫假期吧。我觉得更像是一场战争。

根本的意思：

I"d say travelling during Spring Festival is more ofa battle than a vacation.

我觉得，春节期间的旅行更像是一场战斗，而不是假期。

翻译练习：
