短语动词是动词加上介词或副词或副词加介词，它们用来改变动词的意思；一个短语动词可以是及物动词，也可以是不及物动词，其中及物短语动词根据作用对象的位置可以分为可分短语动词或不可分短语动词。

可分短语动词，对象可以放在动词和介词或副词中间，也可以放在整个短语动词后面，但如果是代词，则必须放在动词与介词或副词或副词加介词中间；不可分短语动词，对象必须放在整个短语动词后面。

本章节介绍的是短语动词 hand 对应的几个短语动词，虽然寥寥无几，但却丰富了 hand 作为动词时的用法。

一、hand over

1. hand sthover (to sb)，hand over (to sb) 或 hand sth over (to sb)，意为“把…移交给（某人）”，通常移交的是权力或责任等，例如：

She resigned and handed over to one of her younger colleagues.

她辞职了，由一位比她年轻的同事接任。

They formally hand power over to the new government next week.

下周他们正式将权力移交给新政府。

When you retire, you"ll have to hand over all of your responsibilities to someone else.

2. hand sb/sth over (to sb)，意为“把某事物 / 某人正式交给（某人）”，指正式地交出，例如：
