michigan原创英语：学词根pict记单词

词根pict= paint 画, 描绘，来自拉丁语。今天用思维导图把pict后缀词列出来了5个词，并且每个词都配有至少3个例句，便于大家词不离句地记忆这些词。一起来记吧：

1.depict[dpkt] de表示加强“使……”+ pict 画，描绘→ 描述，描绘（动词）

a pictogram of a pine tree.

表示一棵松树的图画文字

The artist had depicted her lying on a bed.

画家画了她躺在床上的画像。

The author tried to depict the splendor of the sunset.

作家试图摹写落日的光彩。

2.pictograph["pktgrɑ:f]，picto= pict画，描绘+ graph 写，画 → 像画画一样写 → 象形文字。

So I guess it"s a Dongba pictograph.

所以我估计这肯定是东巴文。

"Mountain" in Chinese is a pictograph character which has its origin in the shape of the mountain.

“山”是个象形字，是由大山的形态演化而来的。

3.pictorial[pkt:ril]，pict 画，描绘+ or 状态 + ial …的 → 绘画的（形容词）。pictorial还可做名词“画报”。

4.picture[pkt(r)]，pict 画，描绘+ ure 名词后缀，表示“与行为有关的物”→ 图画。

A picture of flowers hung on the wall.

墙上挂着一张花卉的图画。

Have you got any pictures of your trip?

你有这次旅行的照片吗？（这里的picture意思为“照片”）

This is a book with lots of pictures in it.

这是一本有大量插图的书。

She wanted a famous artist to paint her picture.

5.picturesque[pktresk]，pictur（e）图画+ esque形容词词尾，表示“像…的”，像图画的 → 风景如画的。

It is a picturesque place.

那是个风景优美的所在。

He lived in a picturesque village.

他住在一个风景如画的村庄里。

He painted the picturesque fishing village in the bay.

他画了海湾里一个风景如画的渔村。
