1. Amazon River and Mississippi River
亚马逊河和密西西比河
Mom: They focus on two main river systems in this aquarium: the Amazon River and the Mississippi River.
妈妈：这个海洋馆专注于两大水系：亚马逊河和密西西比河。
Amazon读作 [mza:n]。
Can you tell me where each of those are?
你能告诉我它们分别在哪儿吗？
Child: The Amazon River is in South America and the Mississippi River is in North America.
宝宝：亚马逊河在南美洲，密西西比河在北美洲。
Mom: Very good!
妈妈：很好！
They are fresh-water bodies.
它们都是淡水水体。
They don"t have salt in them like the sea.
它们不像大海一样有盐。
In this tank, we can see some piranhas.
在这个水族箱里，我们可以看到一些水虎鱼。
Piranhas读作 [pi"rɑ:ns]。
They are from the Amazon.
它们来自亚马逊河。
They have sharp teeth
它们有尖尖的牙齿，
and are quick to eat meat!
而且吃肉很快！
Child: Look at this tank, Mommy!
宝宝：看这个水族箱，妈妈！
They have catfish!
有鲶鱼！
He has whiskers like a cat.
它们有像猫一样的胡须。
Mom: Yes, they are very common in the Mississippi River.
妈妈：是的，它们在密西西比河很常见。
He likes to eat things from the bottom of the river.
它喜欢吃水底的东西。
That is why he is called a bottom feeder.
这就是为什么它被叫做食底泥动物。
See how he stays close to the bottom of the tank?

Child: That"s cool.

2. Lake Baikal 贝加尔湖
Mom: Here is their special exhibit: Lake Baikal.

Baikal读作 [bai"ka:l]。
It is the largest and deepest lake in the world.
它是世界上最大最深的湖。
Child: Where is it?
宝宝：它在哪里？
Mom: It"s in Russia.
妈妈：在俄罗斯。
Let"s read what these fish are.
咱们读一下这些是什么鱼。
They are Omul salmon, Baikal sturgeon, and the golomyanka.
它们是奥木尔鲑鱼、贝加尔鲟鱼和贝湖油鱼。
Salmon读作 ["smn]，sturgeon读作 ["st:dn]。非著名地名可自行拼读，没有标准答案。
Can you say that last one"s name?
你能说出最后一条鱼的名字吗？
Child: This one is so cute!
宝宝：这条真可爱！
He is a goby.
它是一条虾虎鱼。
I like his spots.
我喜欢它的斑点。
Mom: He would be a cool pet to have!
