I. Why Do We Recycle?
我们为什么要循环再利用？
Child: Mom, why do we recycle?

Mom: We do it so that we can take care of the environment,
妈妈：咱们这样做是为了保护环境，
be less wasteful, and more mindful of the things we own and use.

Child: We read about recycling in science class today.

The teacher said we should remember,

Mom: Yes, that is a good phrase to keep in mind.

Child: Sort of. I didn"t know "reduce" ,

Mom: Well, "reduce" means to make less of something

When we reduce pollution, litter, or the waste we produce each day,

Can you think of an example?

There is no need to throw away good clothing.

We can pass it down to siblings or give it to charity.
