Out There or In Here
向外看？向内看？
Once Rabi was out in street looking for something. One of his neighbor happen to pass by, when he saw Rabi looking for something. He stopped and asked him what happened.
一天，拉比出门在街上找着什么东西。碰巧他的一个邻居路过看到他，停下来问他发生了什么事。
Rabi replied, “I lost my key.”
拉比回答说：“我钥匙丢了。”
Neighbor started to look for keys with him. Soon two more neighbors joined them but no one was able to find key.
于是邻居和他一起找起钥匙来。很快又有两个邻居来帮忙，但没人找到钥匙。
At last one of neighbor asked, “Where did you drop it?”
最后，一个邻居问道：“你丢在哪了？”
Rabi replied, “Oh, i didn"t lost my keys here.” Then he pointed towards his house and said, “I lost it over there in my house.”
拉比回答说：“哦，钥匙没丢这里。”然后指着他的房子说：“我丢在屋子里了。”
Everyone was surprised and bemused. They asked, “If you lost it there then why are you looking for it here in street?”
每个人都感到惊讶和困惑。他们问他：“如果你在家里丢的，为啥要在街上找呢？”
Rabi replied, “That"s because my house is dimly lighted but out here is so much brighter under street light.!”
拉比说：“那是因为我家里灯光昏暗，但是在街灯这边就明亮得多。”
Neighbor couldn"t help but laugh at his reply.
邻居忍不住笑话他。
Just then Rabi smiled and said, “Friends, It is clear that you all are intelligent.Then why do you lose peace of your mind, perhaps because of a failed relationship or job? You look for what was lost out there and not in here?”
这时拉比笑着说：“朋友们，显然你们都很聪明。那为什么你们会因为处理不好人际关系或丢掉工作而变得不理智呢？你们总是找外因而不找内因么？“
Rabi pointed towards neighbors chest and said, “Why you get sad? You lose your joy out there or in here?
拉比指着邻居的胸口说：“你们不快乐是源于自身的问题还是别的什么问题？
You avoid looking inside you because light is dimmer and therefore more inconvenient?”
你们总回避向内看，是因为心里光线昏暗，不便去看么？“
Neighbors understood what Rabi wanted to teach them.
邻居们终于明白了拉比真正想要教会他们的是什么。
人们总习惯将失败归因于外在的人事物，而忽略了自己的问题。失恋了，脑子里满是对方不好的地方，说爱情不是我想象的那样；工作不顺利总说公司不能做到公平合理，老板和同事如何如何。
套句歌词，爱情不是你想要，想要就能要，公司也不是你家开，翅膀硬了再离开。其实每一件事情的成败都有客观原因，但更重要的是内因，先问自己是否已经竭尽全力而后才无能为力。
也许周围有太多的借口让自己逃避，也许向自己追责有如挖心掏肺一般难受，但无论绕多少个弯都要回到直面自己的那条路上。
人生不易，绕不开的门槛很多，而打开心门的钥匙不在外面，就在心里。
