Hi! 大家好哇！看完句子后记得思考：本句中有几个从句？分别是什么从句？请看：

1. 单词和词组

it is … that … 强调句

against that background 在那种背景下

commissioner n. 委员，专员

*commission n. 委员会；佣金 v. 正式委托

issue v. 发表，发行

damning adj. 谴责的；诅咒的；可以定罪的

*damn v. 谴责

the Royal Free hospital trust n. 英国皇家自由信托医院

啊哈，这个句子从句超多，一环套一环，要仔细拆分清楚，还有许多介词短语，用“[ ]”包起来，剩下的内容就是句子的主干。

开头“It is against that background that…”是强调句式，被强调部分可以是主语、宾语或状语 本句中，被强调部分为状语“against that background”。

在“the Royal Free hospital trust under the NHS, which handed over to …”中，引导词“which”引导的从句中缺少主语，故此处是非限制性定语从句，修饰先行词“the Royal Free hospital trust”，可以拆分。

# 那为什么不是修饰的“the NHS”呢？

因为这里是介词词组“under the NHS”，它也是修饰“the Royal Free hospital trust”的。

在“a vague agreement which took far too little account of…”中，引导词“which”引导的从句中缺少主语，故此处是定语从句，修饰“a vague agreement”，可以拆分。
